There were 7,875 COVID-19 deaths reported in the U.S. during the week ending April 25, according to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data available on May 8.

A total of 49,968 deaths regardless of cause were reported in the U.S., meaning COVID-19-related deaths makeup 15.8 percent of that total.
