Rhode Island women’s lacrosse goalkeeper Casey Phelps has been named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference on Monday. Phelps played a key role in Rhode Island’s recent 13-7 win over Merrimack, marking the team’s second victory of the season.
In the game against Merrimack, Phelps recorded 16 saves and collected four ground balls. This recognition marks her second career weekly conference honor.
The Rams will return to competition on Friday as they begin their Atlantic 10 schedule with a matchup against George Washington.
