Rhode Island will play its second match of the 2026 season against New Hampshire on Tuesday, February 10 at Beirne Stadium in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Both teams enter the game with a record of 0-1.
This matchup marks the first meeting between Rhode Island and New Hampshire in women’s lacrosse. In their previous game, Rhode Island lost to Fairfield with a score of 13-6. New Hampshire was defeated by Boston University, 16-7, in its last outing.
New Hampshire is led by Rose Pavuk, who has scored four goals so far this season. For Rhode Island, Caralie Basuel also leads her team with four goals after one game.
“With four goals in the season-opener, Rhode Island redshirt sophomore Caralie Basuel picked up right where she left off a season ago,” according to the team statement. “Basuel connected on both of her free position shots for a pair of goals last time out in Rhody’s battle with Fairfield.” Last season, Basuel recorded 48 goals and eight assists for a total of 56 points during Rhode Island’s inaugural NCAA Division I campaign.
