Rhode Island’s women’s lacrosse team will travel to face Merrimack at Duane Stadium on Saturday. This marks the second time the two programs have met.
In their most recent game, Rhode Island lost to Bryant by a score of 15-6. Earlier in the season, the Rams earned their first win on February 14 against Rider, scoring a season-high 14 goals.
Merrimack enters the matchup with an 0-4 record for the 2026 season. The Warriors’ latest game resulted in a 14-5 loss to Stonehill.
The previous meeting between Rhode Island and Merrimack was significant for Rhody, as it was their first NCAA Division I match in program history. “Calli Dunn’s goal with less than a minute left proved to be the difference to lift the Rams to victory to make history as the first win for the program,” according to team officials.
During that historic game, Caralie Basuel scored seven goals and became the first player in program history to score a goal. Goalie Casey Phelps contributed with 12 saves, helping secure Rhode Island’s win.
