Tiverton ranked eighth in state for resident earnings in 2017

Tiverton ranked eighth among cities in Rhode Island by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Tiverton residents was an inflation-adjusted $37,492 per year. Tiverton had 3,459 households in 2017, with a population of 7,727.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Carolina. Carolina's median income was $45,114 per year after adjusting for inflation – $7,622 more than Tiverton. It had 268 households in 2017 and a population of 680.

Kingston had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Rhode Island, with a median income of only $4,357 per year. That was $33,135 less than the median income in Tiverton at the time. Kingston had 729 households in 2017 and a population of 6,983.
