69 percent of applicants to the University of Rhode Island were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Rhode Island, 91 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Kingston enrolled 17,777 students in fall 2018, including 14,778 in undergraduate and 2,999 in graduate programs, data shows. 4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

42 percent of undergraduates are residents of Rhode Island, and 58 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (10 percent).

The school admitted 69 percent of the 22,782 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 19 percent enrolled.
