Cost of college went up for all students at Salve Regina University

Tuition and fees rose 3 percent for 2018-19 at Salve Regina University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Rhode Island students paid $40,150 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,164 more than the $38,986 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 587 students received grants or scholarships totaling $13.6 million and 539 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,647), 2,041 students used grants or scholarships totaling $45.4 million, and 1,594 students took out $11 million in federal student loans.
